May 11-12, 2007 :: Is Mercury in Retrograde???

I was sitting here watching a show about cavemen (Neanderthals, but the "th" is a "t" sound) talking on the phone with a friend about my impending returning nasal problems, when all of a sudden I hear this boom, BOOM BAM BANG POW!!! outside.  I thought a plane had crashed into my front yard. I looked out the window and saw, across the street, trucks turned sideways into a yard, my nayber's carport almost off its footing, bent and twisted, and my nayber's beautiful Lincoln turned sideways in her and her nayber's yard. I ran outside and dialed 911 but she already had units coming. That was FAST. Thank you to our finest: our men in blue, and thank you to all the other finest: the EMTs and firemen, who came to their rescue. There were at least two firetrucks, 5 or 6 cops cars, at least 3 ambulances and quite a few naybers who clearly heard the noise.

Across the street, two trucks were smashed up pretty good and were sitting in my naybers' yards. One truck was driven by a punk youth who was apparently angry because a girl had broken up with him at a party a few minutes earlier and was also either racing or being followed by his friends. The other truck was still in the driveway and they hadn't even pulled out into the street.  This PUNK ass in his brand spanking new truck loses control and comes UP over the curb just as he's crossing into her property and pummels across the woman's gorgeous grass, ramming right into the other truck just sitting there, who spins and hits the house owner's beautiful Lincoln (she takes impeccable care of everything she has, including the house I'm in, which I bot from her son) and the punk truck takes the carport almost completely down.  Then I think her car must have hit the edge of her garage and the bricks and framing are completely bent up.  Probably some major damage to the supporting wall.

I get there as this PUNK gets out of his truck and is bleeding all over, bitching, looking for his shoe which flung off during the wreck.  These trucks were so mangled, both of them, that their structure was hardly recognizable.  His friends pull up behind him and start saying "no girl is worth this..." and we all get the idea about the girl and the fact that he took it out on the streets.  The other punks try to talk him into getting into their truck, but some mom was there and told the ass to sit down before he passed out.  I don't know if he was drunk or what, but he was definitely an idiot.

These other buttheads left the scene.  Isn't that a felony? Failure to render aid, leaving the scene of an accident? I couldn't read their license plates, nor could any of us, so they got away.  But lots of people there know exactly who they are. The idiot stays there (thank goodness) and pretty soon the cops and everyone are crawling the place.  You can see the tire marks across my nayber's yard and at one point a cop is looking at tracks and taking pictures. It was clear who was at fault.  They took down a sign then another sign, then plowed across the yard, then hit the people in the truck which probably hit the Lincoln.

The people in the stationary truck were at least in their late 50s if not older. They were the daughter and son-in-law of my nayber. My nayber is at least in her late 70s and she's got more spunk than anyone I know!  She's out there helping everyone, talking to the cops, etc.  The older couple were pretty bad off because they kept almost passing out - I ran to the window and told the man, who was in the passenger seat, to stay awake if he could, then he shouted to his wife to wake up and she did.  They were in total shock.  The EMTs got there and bagged at least one of them, then got the woman out, but had to get the Jaw of Life to get the guy out.

The tree they hit on the other side of the carport is quite damaged.  Its at least 40 or 50 years old and its trunk it just shredded.

We were told the couple will be okay, but my nayber had come out and her daughter had said "I didn't do anything wrong!!" and her mother told her no, she hadn't.  This idiot punk screws up three lives in a major way as well as his own and he was just looking to take his anger out on anything or anyone.

So all these other "kids" show up who had been at the party.  One girl was crying; we figured out she'd been the one breaking up.  There had been a graduation party a couple of blocks away and the mom shows up and said she'd taken the guy home once because he was being belligerent, but he came back... and now this.

Kids shouldn't be given license to drive until they're 30.  Period.  No exceptions.
