The shutters finally got hung. It took about 3 tries, 3 weeks, and several trips to the hardware store. But they're working shutters; the flip things work well even though they're very old. I also hung CORDLESS accordian shades flush inside the window frames.
As you can see, there is a major gap between the sets of shutters. But it's kinda neat when it is daytime and you can see the gap clearly.

I like it because I used nasty old shutters, painted them (took about 1.3 hours PER SHUTTER) and they sharpen the whole bedroom decor so well. AND they add a lot of darkness at night.
