Here is some of the hideous tile and where the kitchen concrete floor meets the wood floor. A guy whose family has been doing this for years told me the adhesive will never come off. He said he would just cover the wood with either more wood, linoleum ... or tile. I just purchased enough bamboo floating floor to cover the 10' x 11' dining area, but purchased quite a bit of very expensive cork tiles for the kitchen.

Yep, everyone should have a working fire extinguisher in their kitchen!!!!!

That's REALLY sticky glue between the dining and kitchen area, under my $29 scraper that I'll never use again (anyone need a floor scraper?)

Smooth Concrete!!! I skimmed the floor myself. I should be a floor skimmer in my next life. I skim very well. Call me if you need some skimming.
The cabinets will eventually either be sanded, painted and the doors refinished, or the entire cabinets replaced. When you see the finished cork, you'll push for new cabinets....
