One night, after all the bamboo had been laid and all the finish skimming had dried, I pulled out the new cork tiles and began the work. I first marked off a square line, which took about an hour to get perfect, then began.

It actually went almost this fast. I had to stop a few times just to kick back and take a long look at the progress. Online I read that cork is warm on the feet. I didn't believe it until I stepped on it. It IS warm, comfortable, quiet, I can push a cat bowl across the floor and it doesn't make a sound. Oh, and the cats DO LOVE IT. Hey, anything would have been better than that hideous tile or the moldy concrete that I had to live with for a month while things were getting done.
