Duomo cathedral

I thought a shot of the Duomo cathedral would be in order here. Since Karla was my Italian-speaking guide (she also speaks Spanish, English, and French), I didn't have to write anything down or keep track of where the hell we were... or what the hell we were looking at, for that matter.

Here's Chris

The tower by the Duomo cathedral. Pretty stunning stuff. Built hundreds of years ago, this architecture was in pretty good shape. We went into the nave, then down into the bowels of the church. It was quite claustrophobic down there; the ceilings were only about 8 feet high with this ENORMOUS cathedral with all its stone on top of me. But there were tombs, relics, old dug-outs. I love old stuff.

Gilli's cafe

Gilli's is this great little cafe where we got a latte and a capuccino. Very Italian, very Continental.

capuccino

Nice touch, the heart.

Gilli's patrons

Another view. I thought including Florinians (???) in the shot would be a good idea.
