This was the view from the plane as we entered France, on the Amsterdam side (where I had a quick stop before flying out to the Nice airport.)

This was a very scary view of the runway (see the lighter-colored lines in the penninsula? runway) as we banked around to go at it head-on. But I didn't care. I was still excited and elated to be visiting France. Alas, in typical fashion, things change rapidly.
