Greece!
Athens

Athens, with a view
This is Athens, from the Acropolis. Okay, I gotta say: Athens sucked.
But the Acropolis was magical. There were throngs of tourists, but because of its grandeur, they were actually tolerable. And the view. Well, the view...

Our Room, at the Andromeda
We had a choice of hotels: the tried and true International hotel, or the Andromeda. By all means, lets stay at a hotel named after a flesh-eating disease!!! Oh, what glorious days! The Andromeda! Not a cabbie in the city knew where the hell it was.

Another Athens view
From atop the Acropolis, close to the edge. I would equate Athens with... a cross between Hollywood and Mexico City. It had its advertising, and it had its smog. How could a capitalist go wrong? But name me just one thing, ONE thing, the Greeks have come up with since the Acropolis. Okay, they got good salads. I'll give you that one.

View of the Parthenon's capital.
See this couple? Last left standing. The Parthenon was a sight to behold, once you were atop the Acropolis and in the complex.
There were many people there to see the same thing you were there to see, like millions of them, but swarm though they might, they could not take away from the height and the breadth of the monumental works of the ancient architects.
This is what was left of the facade of the Parthenon. Sadly.

Parthenon
Another good shot of what was once a great piece of architecture. Vandalist bastards.
